Summary:
Responsible to make vocational observation and assessment of participants in training and assessment program components. Provide professionally formed, articulated descriptions based on assessment of participants, both verbally and in writing to be used in the final assessment of participants' abilities, barriers, and overall readiness for employment. Provide direct support, training, coaching, or other employment services to both funded and unfunded program participants earning commensurate and non-commensurate wages. Must pass background check.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:r.

  • Assist with screening of referrals for appropriate program and service options, as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with participants, referral agencies, and all team members.
  • Ensure all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate, and in compliance. Includes case notes, service reports, and time studies (if applicable).
  • Enter required data into Support 2020 Participant Case Management database in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay informed of state and federal laws affecting the organization and the people it serves.
  • Provide hands on training, direct supervision, and support to multiple participants at a variety of work locations.
  • Gather accurate data needed to fulfill reporting requirements, to include work behaviors and productivity.
  • Make recommendations to supervisory staff on necessary changes in policy or management style.
  • Assist participants in achieving the highest level of independent functioning while receiving services.
  • Thoroughly review intake, service plan, and supporting documentation for each participant. Assist with developing and implementing said items, as requested.
  • Evaluate participants' work assets for appropriate job training needs.
  • Act as a job coach and trainer for program participants.
  • Stay informed of current wage trends and job coaching techniques.
  • Explain and demonstrate tasks according to employer expectations. Work with participants on a variety of tasks to ensure individual understands job duties, and tasks are achievable.
  • Ability to perform all work tasks supervised. May work a variety of shifts and locations, including weekends and evenings, depending upon assignment.
  • Work with staff to develop, monitor, and resolve skills training, vocational, or behavioral issues.
  • Assist with providing and recommending job accommodations, to include assistive technology needs.
  • Make analytical observations and assess the participant's abilities to perform assigned tasks, demonstrate "soft" job skills, and job readiness over the period of participation; making note of progress, added skills and abilities, and/or other issues that impacts the participants' readiness to seek competitive employment following the assessment period.
  • Professionally communicate in writing and verbally the results of the participant assessment period, throughout the assessment period, and assist in the preparation of the final assessment report in conjunction with the Program Manager.
  • At the direction of the Program Manager, communicate both in writing and/or verbally with referral sources to report progress or advise of issues that may impact the assessment process.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries assuring safety of personnel or property.
  • Work collaboratively internally and externally to provide client services.
  • Maintain agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal.
  • Comply with all health, safety and fire standards and all local, state and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
