Summary:

This part-time (20 hrs/wk) position is responsible for the development, facilitation, and delivery of authorized training programs in the Goodwill Computer Lab/ Career Center. These programs include training in computer and designated software use and proficiency, Point-of-Sale, clerical skills, or other training as requested and approved for Goodwill or L & I participants. In addition this position is responsible to provide instruction in and facilitation of WorkSource Affiliate site connections. Responsible for coordination with Employment Specialists to conduct retention and tracking services for participants, which may include employer contact and facilitation of follow-up services to insure the successful transition of participants into the workforce.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Instruct clients in computer lessons in a self paced setting.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of programs and services.
  • Assist with screening of referrals for appropriate program and service options.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with participants, referral agencies, and all team members.
  • Follow up on participant progress, providing encouragement as needed.
  • Ensure all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate, and in compliance.  Includes case notes, service reports, and attendance logs. 
  • Enter required data into Participant Case Management database in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay informed of state and federal laws affecting the organization and the people it serves.
  • Provide hands on training, direct supervision, and support to participants.
  • Gather accurate data needed to fulfill reporting requirements, to include work behaviors and learning progress.
  • Submit data for continuous improvement outcome reporting system, as requested.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, training, and workshops, as approved or required by supervisor.
  • Make recommendations to supervisory staff on necessary changes in policy or management style.
  • Conduct orientation of new referrals. 
  • Seek new sources of revenue, upon request.
  • Assist in developing natural supports for participants.
  • Assist participants in achieving the highest level of independent functioning while receiving services.
  • Work with multiple participant caseload.
  • Monitor, evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness.
  • Offer specific training programs to help participants maintain or improve job skills.
  • Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
  • Determine training needs and make recommendations as to the most appropriate and most feasible methods of meeting those needs.
  • Write, identify, develop and recommend for purchase new curriculum, training and support material.
  • Maintain and revise curriculum support materials for all future and existing curriculum.
  • Monitor and record participant progress to ensure goals and objectives are met. 
  • Provide services in accordance with Goodwill policies, CARF standards, and principles of safety. 
  • Work with staff to develop, monitor, and resolve skills training, vocational, or behavioral issues.
  • Provide support to participant to assist in achieving all vocational and non-vocational goals.
  • Model and train appropriate work behaviors and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide training using multiple methods, to reach all learning styles.
  • Provide follow-up contact with Participants who have gained employment to facilitate job retention and tracking.
  • As needed, and in cooperation with Employment Specialists, contact employers to determine employer needs in helping participants retain employment.
  •  As needed, facilitate delivery of services to assist in job retention.
  • Participate in internal or external case staffings to determine participant needs.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries assuring safety of personnel or property.
  • Work collaboratively with Workforce & Family Services to provide client services.
  • Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain agency confidentiality.  Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal.
  • Comply with all health, safety and fire standards and all local, state and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
