The Facility Associate III primarily works in the processing/production area of the facility, handling a variety of donated goods and/or on the sales floor stocking shelves and providing customer service. Assists management in proper facility operation by performing assigned advance tasks and providing leadership to assigned store personnel. Must pass background check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Must demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest directives, rules, policies, procedures, and departmental and organizational standards.

 Team Leader 

  • Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of work performed by assigned employees in accordance with standards.
  • Train employees in a thorough, organized, and timely manner.
  • Assist Facility Managers, Assistant Managers, and Facility Leads in appraising employees, as requested.
  • Assist in the maintenance of facility records.
  • Responsible, as designated, for the facility's operation in the absence of Facility Management and Leads including but not limited to: directing the activities of facility personnel; ensuring that all sales transactions are rung and reported accurately; and ensure that donated goods are processed appropriately.


  •  Inspect, sort, grade, and/or assign prices or other actions needed to donated items.
  •  Unload containers, sorting and grading items into appropriate bins by quality specifications.
  •  Transport stock to and from work stations, as needed.

Incidental Functions - A Facility Associate III may perform any or all of the following:

Merchandise Stocker

  • Transport items to and from the sales floor.
  • Place items on shelves, in floor fixtures or on racks.
  • Face shelves, racks, and/or floor fixtures according to display standards.
  • Remove old items from display and place in totes or carts, as assigned.
  • Assist at cash register wrapping or bagging merchandise.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Provide carry out service as needed.


  •  Prepare items for sale by hanging clothing, cleaning items as needed and/or bagging items that need to be kept together.
  • Tag, mark and/or code items selected for sale according to designated prices and type of merchandise.
  • Tally amounts and/or prices of processed items.


  • Perform opening tasks, including cleaning glass cases, cleaning counters, straightening cash wrap (cashier work station), and stocking supplies for the cash wrap.
  • Perform register closing duties, including counting down register, and completing required cashier reconciliation.
  • Collect cash, check, or charge payments from customers and make change for cash.
  • Provide cash receipts to customers.
  • Pack customer purchase in bags or cartons.
  • Assist with customer service at adjacent work stations, if applicable.
  • Remove clothes from dressing rooms and rehang them on racks.
  • Remove merchandise stock from sales floor to back room.
  • Answer telephone and provide announcements on paging system, as needed.
  • Perform other merchandise stocking duties as assigned.
  • Represent the company by providing excellent customer service.

 Donor Service Associate

  •  Perform opening duties to work station.
  • Review donation area ensuring it is a clean and safe work area.
  • Accept donations from the public, transferring items to the appropriate container, tote, cart, or basket.
  • Provide receipts to donors.
  • Assist in loading or unloading trucks, trailers, and waste receptacles.
  • Represent the company by providing exemplary customer service.


  •  Separate donations by type, not quality.
  • Identify and properly dispose of garbage.
  • Identify and process recyclable material as appropriate.
  • Transport stock to and/or from work station.


  •  Sweep and/or mop sales floor.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas, as needed.
  • Clean windows and dust fixtures and shelves, as necessary.
  • Clean and supply washrooms as needed.
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins.
  • Police debris exterior to the building.
  • Retrieve and collect shopping carts and baskets, as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.
