Summary:
20 hours/week drive van to transport staff and participants to and from specified destinations. Provide and support direct employment services to homeless and at risk of homelessness participants through the Hope Works Program. Must have valid driver license with personal auto insurance as well as pass background, and driver record check.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide services within the scope of work, as directed by your supervisor.
  • Safely drive van to destination.
  • Maintain telephone contact with supervisor to ensure safety.
  • Inspect van, equipment, and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Complete vehicle inspection form on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with participants, other agencies, landlords, and all team members.
  • Follow-up on participant progress, providing encouragement as needed.
  • Ensure all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate, and in compliance. Includes case notes, job logs, and service reports.
  • Enter required data into Goodwill Database in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay informed of state and federal laws affecting the organization and the people it serves.
  • Submit data for continuous improvement outcome reporting system, as requested.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, trainings, and workshops as approved or required by supervisor.
  • Make recommendations to supervisory staff on necessary changes in policy or management style.
  • Provide services in accordance with Goodwill policies, CARF standards, and principles of safety.
  • Assist in developing natural supports for participants.
  • Assist participants in achieving the highest level of independent functioning while receiving services.
  • Evaluate participants' work assets for appropriate job training needs.
  • Perform job and task analysis.
  • Act as a job coach and trainer for program participants.
  • Model appropriate work behaviors and interpersonal skills.
  • Stay informed of current wage trends and job coaching techniques.
  • Explain and demonstrate tasks according to employer expectations.
  • Work with participants on a variety of tasks to ensure individual understands job duties, and tasks are achievable.
  • Determine the worksite is properly equipped to ensure participant safety.
  • Work with staff to develop, monitor, and resolve skills training, vocational, or behavioral issues.
  • Travel around Spokane County in search of potential clients, jobs, and housing opportunities.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries assuring safety of personnel or property.
  • Work collaboratively with Workforce and Family Services to provide services.
  • Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal.
  • Comply with all health, safety and fire standards and all local, state and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
