Summary:

Under the supervision of the General Manager of Learning and Employee Development, the Administrative Assistant supports the Learning Department's goals, provides development and presentation design assistance, maintains the organizational tracking system for training and provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Education and/or Experience:

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Must have strong creative writing skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine report and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Computer Skills:

Must possess a high level of computer competency and have the ability to learn new programs easily. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other specialized software programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist the General Manager of Learning and Employee Development.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers/partners.
  • Provide development and presentation design assistance to requests submitted to the Learning Department.
  • Maintain the organizations tracking system for training.
  • Work collaboratively with Workforce and Family Services to provide participant services.
  • Maintain and support the Learning Department filing and records retention.
  • Order and maintain supplies for the Learning Department and Learning Center.
  • Maintain and support the Learning Center activities.
  • Maintain and support the Learning Center and Adobe Connect calendars.
  • Provide technical assistance to those using the Learning Center.
  • Provide beverage service requested for Learning Center activities.
  • Maintain the appearance of the Learning Center.
  • Maintain and support any future platforms controlled by the Learning Department.
  • Learn about the design process and techniques as part of the Learning Department.
  • Seek out design ideas and concepts as part of the Learning Department.
  • Actively look for ways to improve the design process and style within the Learning department.
  • Maintain a Design Option Book.
  • Maintain a desk manual for the Administrative Assistant position.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest assuring safety of personnel or property.
  • Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
